目前藏家對(duì)漢代玉璧情有鐘，從造型上來(lái)說(shuō) 尚沒(méi)有那種分類(lèi)法能夠?qū)⒁?jiàn)于著錄的玉璧標(biāo)本囊括殆盡。如果僅依“形制”區(qū)別或僅據(jù)“紋飾”不同的單一標(biāo)準(zhǔn)對(duì)漢代玉璧分類(lèi)，則會(huì)帶來(lái)不少標(biāo)本分類(lèi)歸屬模糊、或有些標(biāo)本分類(lèi)過(guò)于粗約等問(wèn)題。本文采取“形制”與“紋飾”特征兼顧的方式，僅對(duì)漢代玉璧作大致分類(lèi)，嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)說(shuō)來(lái)，亦算不上是一種十分的分類(lèi)法。

從紋飾上來(lái)說(shuō)，漢代玉璧的紋飾，多直接從春秋同類(lèi)器中因襲、衍變而出，動(dòng)物圖案種類(lèi)以龍紋、螭紋、蛇紋、鳳紋及其組合為主，主題紋飾區(qū)內(nèi)亦流行加飾網(wǎng)格紋、絞絲弦紋、羽狀紋、花葉紋、水滴紋等細(xì)密紋的做法。尤其春秋之際流行的雙首龍紋圖式，漢代玉璧形構(gòu)組圖仍大量使用，只是龍或其他神異動(dòng)物的整體形構(gòu)在組圖中進(jìn)一步被肢解、離散、抽象、簡(jiǎn)化、變形，向著裝飾性的幾何圖案化方向發(fā)展。

漢代玉璧：璧，圓形扁平，中有圓孔的玉器，“以蒼璧禮天?！庇腥N類(lèi)型：璧、環(huán)、援。按'爾雅'的解釋?zhuān)骸叭?玉體部分'倍好'圓孔'謂之璧，好倍肉謂之璦，肉好若一謂之環(huán)。”肉、好的倍、一是指肉、好的半徑還是直徑的長(zhǎng)度，有爭(zhēng)議，但以古玉璧的實(shí)物來(lái)看，肉、好并無(wú)的比例。我們一般稱(chēng)小孔者為璧，大孔者為環(huán)。其實(shí)玉璧也用作佩飾和陪葬，其大小、形狀、花紋差別甚大。

漢代出廓壁拍得1456萬(wàn)元，創(chuàng)玉璧拍賣(mài)價(jià)格新高。從近兩年玉器拍賣(mài)市場(chǎng)來(lái)看，玉器的工藝、質(zhì)地已經(jīng)成為收藏玉器的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。
